And so it begins. Finally.

Today is Blog Action Day

"What would happen if every blog published posts discussing the same issue, on the same day? One issue. One day. Thousands of voices."

This is the question being asked by Collis and Cyan Ta'eed and Leo Babauta, and the essence of their global experiment. Today, bloggers around the world are being asked to write about a single topic: the environment.

There are plenty of connections between C2K and the environment, but I'll just put a plug in here for Terrapass.

Terrapass is a drop-dead simple way for people like us to "undo" the carbon emissions we cause when we drive our cars, heat our homes, or fly from city to city. For less than $100, for example, I funded a project that prevents the emission of the same amount of CO2 that I'll produce this year by driving my car.

I also just noticed that Terrapass is offering free credits when you turn in old electronic devices like cell phones. So not only will your device be recycled or disposed of properly, Terrapass will help you offset some of your carbon emissions for free.

Another new beginning

Winter is right around the corner (it's already started snowing in Tahoe!), and we're all set for another great winter season in the mountains. Our ninth -- closing in on a decade of good times!

The cabin is lined up, we have a great group, and now we just need a couple big storms to blow through and cover all the rocks. Pray for snow!
